Impact of Graduate Studies on our Nation Impact of Graduate Students on UT It has been previously calculated that each UT graduate assistant has an average ROI of $121,188. Recently, $500,000 was invested to fund 37 new graduate assistantships. It expected that these new assistantships will have a total ROI of $4,483,936. Impact of Graduate students on our Nation • By 2020, the BLS estimates that the number of jobs requiring advanced degrees will increase by 2.5 million. • 18% increase in jobs requiring a masters degree • 17% increase in jobs requiring a doctoral degree

GSA’s Most popular programs • Travel Reimbursement program • Research Awards program The GSA reviews travel applications to help more than 100 graduate students with aid totalling over $20,000 in aid in 2012-13 allowing them to present their research at the National and International Level. In 2012-13 the GSA gave out 10 research awards to graduate students totaling over $16,000 to fund cutting edge research.
Known Regionally and Nationally for Our Positive Impact on Graduate Studies UT GSA was recently invited to speak at the 2012 National Conference for the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students (NAGPS) at Duke University. UT GSA Wins the NAGPS National New Graduate Organization of the Year Award and Friends of Graduate Students Award!
