  2. What is Curling? Curling is a sport played in the Winter Olympic games. The aim of Curling is to get your pucks closest to the middle of the smallest ring on the ice without the other team knocking the puck out of the circles. For each team in Curling you would need about 4 pairs of Ice Skates and at least 3 brooms one of them is a spare one.

  3. How to play • Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice towards a target area which is divided into four concentric rings. Two teams take turns sliding heavy polished granite stones across the ice curling sheet towards the circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones. The purpose is to get the highest score for a game. points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the target at the conclusion of each end which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones. A game may consist of ten or eight ends.

  4. Judging • How do you win? What you have to do to win is each team throws a series of pucks and the end of the game the team that has their pucks closest to the middle of the ring wins the game.

  5. Interesting Facts about Curling • Curling was an Olympic sport since 1998. • The maximum weight of a curling stone is 44 pounds or 20 kilograms. • There is about 1.2 million registered curling players in the world. • In Canada curling is as popular as ice hockey. • Curling player Paul Gowsell once ordered a pizza to ice level during a match briefly earning him the nickname “Pizza Paul”.
