Some Advice for Success • Don’t worry about your final grade in this class. • Focus on doing your best every day and on every assignment. • Spend time on this class outside of class. • We’re in class 3 hours/week, and you should spend another 3 hours/week (at least) if you want to succeed. • That doesn’t mean that you can wait and study 12 hours for the test and be OK.

Some Advice for Success, continued • Read the assigned chapters in the textbook. • I don’t have time to cover every informational item during lecture. • Do the homework. • I’ll work as many examples as I can, but you need to practice and prove to yourself that you can do the problems (CONFIDENCE). • If I spend time on it, then it’s important. • If I’m writing, you should be writing; if I’m talking, you should be writing faster.
