  5. Market Position • Highest market share of business aviation air traffic movements in the South East @ 35% • Permitted up to 50,000 annual movements phased-in through to 2019 • Up to 8,900 weekend movements phased-in through to 2019 • Only dedicated business aviation airport

Sustainability – Commitment • In 2009 TAG Farnborough Airport published a Master Plan following stakeholder consultation including the local community. • The Master Plan included a commitment to a 20-point Sustainability Charter to address the potential effects of Airport development on the environment and implement measures to significantly reduced them. • The keys areas for address were: • As a part of this commitment all work under this sector was branded with a unique logo to communicate the sustainable development ethos to all stakeholders. • Noise • Waste • Biodiversity • Emissions • Carbon Reduction

Sustainability – Noise • Residential areas are established all around the airfield, most significantly along the extended runway centrelines to the east and west • Noise in the community is therefore a key concern for TAG • In a leading approach representatives of all relevant stakeholders were brought together: • A development group formed (Quiet Flying Program) tasked with delivering a set of procedures that would be safe, operational practicable and demonstrably reduce the level of noise and the number of people affected by noise in the vicinity of the airport. • TAG management • Air Traffic Services (NATS) • Aircrew • Local planning authorities • Community Pressure Groups

Sustainability – Waste • A commitment was made to reduce landfill waste and develop a waste strategy alongside service providers, site workers and airport users. • Contractors chosen to work with TAG on ensuring development in line with the Waste Hierarchy • Use of more sustainable disposal methods including Waste derived Fuel, Energy from Waste and Anaerobic Digestion • Full review of site waste facilities including locations, signage, service and training to maximise correct usage and effective waste segregation

  10. Sustainability – Biodiversity Biodiversity is a term used to describe the variation of plant and animal species, habitats and ecosystems within a defined region. Through a combination of planning obligations and existing TAG land management procedures a commitment to preserving and where practicable increasing biodiversity has been made.

Sustainability – Emissions Emissions and local air quality are strictly regulated and TAG is obligated to routinely monitor levels of Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), one of a group of nitrogenous gases called NOx. NOx is a constituent of aircraft and vehicle exhaust Aircraft Emissions To address aircraft emissions TAG has implemented a NOx charging scheme. • All aircraft must provide details of their engine types prior to operating • All operators pay a fee related to the NOx index of the specific engine type, per engine, per arrival. • All finances raised from the scheme are used to invest in sustainable projects on and in the vicinity of the airport. • The scheme is designed to incentivise long term operator investment in efficient engine technology

  13. Sustainability – Carbon Reduction Addressing Climate Change is a major part of TAG Farnborough Airport’s work in sustainable development. To achieve this a commitment to reducing the Carbon Footprint of TAG Farnborough Airport has been established. Carbon Footprint reduction is achieved through development in 5 major areas: • Sourcing of energy • Monitoring and control of energy use • Investment in low energy plant and equipment • Communication and training on efficient procedures (staff) • Development of efficient operational procedures (aircraft)

Sustainability – Carbon Footprinting • Achieved reductions in carbon emissions are monitored by annual calculation of the Carbon Footprint. • To enhance developments in carbon footprint reduction TAG has enrolled in Airport Carbon Accreditation • Developed by Airports Council International Europe, Airport Carbon Accreditation provides an independent global standard for benchmarking, reporting and validating airport carbon footprints. • The scheme has 4 levels: MAPPING – Carbon footprint measurement, independently verified REDUCTION – Mapping + Carbon management towards footprint reduction OPTIMISTION – Mapping + Reduction + Third party engagement in carbon reduction NEUTRALITY – Mapping + Reduction + Optimisation + Offsetting of direct emissions

Sustainability – Carbon Footprinting Airport Carbon Accreditation Timeline • 2008 – Mapping level achieved • 2009 – Reduction level achieved • 2010 - 2011 – Reduction level renewed • 2012 – Optimisation achieved Over the five year period TAG Farnborough Airport has reduced the carbon footprint by 1758 tonnes CO2 per annum to 3483 tonnes TAG Farnborough Airport is committed to reaching level 4 of Airport Carbon Accreditation by 2019
