Applications • Mid-July: OMSAS online application, COMPASS, becomes available • Sep 15: Deadline to register for an account on COMPASS • Oct 1: Deadline for applications, transcripts, confidential assessment forms (recommended) • Oct 6: Payment deadline • Oct 15: Deadline for release of MCAT scores

Applications • Autobiographical sketch (50 items) • Categories • Formal education • Employment • Volunteer activities • Extracurricular activities • Awards and accomplishments • Research • Other • Verifiers - required for every item, so start contacting them early!

Interviews • Traditional interview • 20-40 min, 2-3 interviewers (often medical professionals) • Questions related to: • Personal background - know your application well! • Ethics, health care issues • The medical school • Multiple-mini interview (MMI) • McMaster, NOSM • 10-12 stations, 8 min each, different interviewer for each station (mix of faculty, students, members of the community) • Traditional questions + interactive situations
