  2. “The Giving Tree” is written by SHEL SILVERSTEIN. This story is about the relationship between a boy and a tree. The tree and the boy were great friends. The tree gave the boy everything that he needed in his life.

  3. When the boy was very small, he used to visit the tree every day. The tree invited him to climb on it and play with its branches. When he was hungry, the tree gave him apples to eat. When he got tired , he used to sleep in the shade of the tree.

  4. THE LITTLE BOY ENJOYING THE COMPANY OF THE TREE

  5. OH! WHAT A DELICIOUS APPLE!

  6. But when the boy grew up, he went away from the tree. The tree was often alone. After some years when the boy returned, the tree was very happy and invited him to play with it. But the boy said he had no time to play, but needed some money. The tree suggested him to pluck the apples and sell them in the market. The did it and got enough money. Again he went away, and did not return for a long time.

  7. COLLECTING APPLES TO SELL IN THE MARKET

  8. After a long time he came back. The tree was very happy and said “come, play and be happy. The boy said that he is too busy. There is no time to play. He was getting married and needed a house. The tree asked him to cut off its branches and make a house. The boy cut off the branches and carried them away. The tree was happy. The boy did not return for a long time.

  9. BUSY WITH BUILDING THE HOUSE

  10. COMPLETED THE DREAM HOUSE

  11. After a long time he came back. The tree was so happy and whispered, “come and play”. But now the boy was a grown up man. He said “I need a boat to go on a business trip”. The tree said “cut down my trunk and make a boat”. The man cut down the trunk, made a boat and sailed away. The tree was happy.

  12. CUTTING THE TREE TO BUILD A BOAT

  13. FINALLY THE BOAT IS READY

  14. The boy returned after a long time. Now he has grown up into an old man. The tree was very happy to see him. The tree said it had nothing to offer him more. The old man said that he wanted nothing. Only he wanted to sit and rest. The tree said that you can use my stump to sit and rest. The old man did and the tree was still happy.

  15. AT LAST ONLY THE STUMP LEFT……WHAT A GENEROSITY !
