  8. CLC proClassic Description Levelling Tine equipment

  9. CLC Evo – working width from 2.5 to 4.9m • 2 bar frame new generation made of 100mm box section using similar frame structure as the 3 bar CLC pro series. • Bolted tine holders as standard • For working depth from 5 cm down to 40 cm • Evo and Evo “Wings” variants based on same frame offering multiple combinations • Frames: • Rigid 2,50m up to 4,00 m • Folding from 4,00 to 5,00 m

  10. CLC Evo "Wings" • The “Wings” variant is designed to replace the former CLM stubble cultivator. The CLC Evo frame is able to get a tine arrangement with 420mm (rigid) or 370mm (folding) tine spacing allowing the use of wide wing shares for a shallow stubbling cultivation. • The CLC Evo will only be equipped with hollow disc as levelling system • Working width: 3,00 – 3,50 – 4,00m rigid • 4,00 – 5,00 folding • Benefit: • shallow stubbling with a CLC Evo standard frame • closer spacing of 370mm enabling operation without wing shares for deep cultivation with a better crumbling • 2 more tines on folding models will make smaller clods and aggregates • 2 bar frame system enable uses of smaller tractors for a good working width.

  11. CLC Evo and Evo Wings - rigid frame concept Bolted tine holder as a standard for the full range The new CLC Evo frame is basically the same structure as the “CLC pro” line. Headstock, tine holder, and power ability have been aligned for the 2-bar and 3-bar frames. Max power range: -3,00m : 240hp -3,50m : 270hp -4,00m : 300hp 900 8mm beam thickness for both front and rear beam New bolted headstock as on the CLC pro line

  12. CLC Evo and Evo Wings - Folding frame concept The new CLC Evo folding frame is also based on a similar structure like the “CLC pro” line. The main frame is 100% the same but is just a row shorter. Very new on the folding CLC Evo models is the possibility to get bolted tine holders as a standard (was not available on CLC) Max power range: -4,00m : 300hp -4,50m : 320hp -5,00m : 350hp 8mm beam thickness for both front and rear beam Bolted tine holder as a standard also on fold model

  13. The 3 critical phases of a frame development • FEM calculation • The Finite Element Method is a computer simulation helping to design each element according to the data and is securing the first step of the development. • Shaking test • at full load on a shaking robot during a specified period • replicate the machine lifetime over few weeks to control de reliability of the structure • Strain gauge test • physical tests in the field and in transport by using strain gauges which can register the real stress in the material. • By cross-checking with the 2 previous phases the structure maximum power allowance can be approved • Benefit: • We are using this know-how for all our new products. In parallel, a protocol of functional tests is managed in various countries to collect farmers opinion. We are investing a lot to guarantee the best performances.

  14. CLC tine – Bolted tine holder • The CLC line is getting as a standard the bolted tine holder for all models. • Benefit: • easy to take few tines away when using the CLC models as loosener • less welding on main frame is more reliable and giving the all structure a longer life time.

  15. CLC tine – high clearance • the high under beam clearance of 870mm is ensuring blockage free operation 870.mm

  16. CLC tine – maintenance free zone • well proven simple and robust design with no grease nipple at all = low maintenance (due to heat treatment by cementation no wearing between the parts, no greasing necessary) • Unique leg design made out of a tube enabling the C shank to move side ways +/- 14 cm with the short tine, and +/-20 cm with the long tine, each side, thus reporting less stress to the structure • light weight concept, complete tine is only 35kg. • User friendly technology 35 kg 70x40mm

  17. α CLC tine – special angle • Always the best penetration ability in all soil • The power demand and the fuel consumption are limited. • point is working by lifting the ground to make a perfect cracking of the top layer • the upper part is doing an intensive mixing also with low power demand due to its receding shape. • Benefit: • This particular angle design offering 2 distinct front lines is avoiding to flick poorer soil back on top of the ground, interesting when such cultivator equipment will be used for preparing seedbed in one pass. 2 1

  18. CLC tine - Flexibility • All parts of the tines are heat treated, providing • an extraordinary reliability and long life • Extraordinary vibration capacity providing • intensive crumbling. • Unique leg design made out of a tube • enabling the C shank to move side ways +/- 14 cm • with the short tine, and +/-20 cm with the long tine, • each side, thus reporting less stress to the structure • This technique is also allowing to use lighter • material, in order to save lifting capacity and • pulling requirement • Here is a tine in our laboratory showing how far it • can flex. The side pulling force to go up to 20 cm is • 1,200kg. The tine holder stays in place, just the leg • is flexing due to the heat treated tube

  19. CLC tine – flexibility

  20. CLC tine – Auto-reset 640.kg + • The leaf spring pack is getting 1 additional 170mm ring so that the curve of the all pack is smoother and forming a nice arc. • this spring is participating to the flexibility of the all system • Benefit: • higher pressure, at 5cm for a total of 640.kg interesting when hard dry soil • less fatigue for each leaf due to nice arc formed thanks to the ring 170mm, longer life time

  21. CLC tine – light Auto-reset (option for Classic model) 450.kg • As the Classic model is designed for lower power range, an optional lighter leaves spring pack is available. • 450.kg will be enough in lighter soil to keep the point at a constant depth. (this pressure is also corresponding to a good average available on the market) • Benefit: • lower price • lighter machine • more leaves can be retrofitted if necessary

  22. CLC tine – Shear bolted leg • The shear bolt leg design is providing a Vibromat effect • Benefit: • higher pressure at the point with 2T to ensure a clean breaking of the bolt • Vibromat effect: the tine being made from a tube is flexible enough to allow the point to trip 10 cm back before the bolt is breaking. In that way the Vibromat is is avoiding too frequent breakage even being only shearbolted • This short tine can still go 14cm sideways around obstacles, reporting less stress to the tine holder and frame • Shearbolt and Leaf spring pack can be combined, so that the spring pack will get 2T pressure also before releasing, interesting in very heavy soils to keep the tines in and avoiding the driver to change the bolt immediately. • longer life time

  23. CLC pro – 3 rows • Higher versatility with 3 rows • Better dispatching of the residues through the working width and depth • Better incorporation, no line of straw disturbing seed to soil contact in min till process • Effective deeper cultivation possible without creation of a pan (to be highly considered in min till operations) • Intensive mix in the top layer offering ideal profile • Aerobic bacteria can process the residues in a better way into organic material for plant profit • Better top layer profile with ideal seedbed for good rooting and plant development by access to manure

  24. CLC pro – new rigid frame generation • CLC pro range: • Higher horse power ability • More compact (81cm beam spacing) • 2 tines options and their share equipments • More levelling and packing equipment available • Rigid frame 3,00 - 3,50 - 4,00m are now available for tractors up to 300hp • New linkage concept with bolted headstock • Better stress dispersing after FEM calculation

NEW CLC pro Classic • The CLC pro in its Classic variant is offering 5 working widths to the lower power tractor segment with rigid models 3,0 - 3,50m and 4,00m-4,50m-5,00m folding • The frame design is the same as the “pro” model but the rear equipment are based on roller arms holding a levelling tines bar in front of the roller • Max power for the 3,00m is then 160hp • Very compact and light design allowing tractors from 80hp to handle a CLC pro easily • the Full roller program is available for this Classic version

  28. CLC pro Classic– specific levelling device • The parallelogram is replaced by a pair of arms just a bit longer than the standard ones to leave enough room between the tine and the roller to do a good levelling • The levelling tine bar is linked to the roller frame, so changing depth will not alter the levelling quality • Fine tuning of the tine position to the ground is done by an infinite screw adjustment • The tine bar can be adjusted in 3 height position

  29. CLCEvo “Wings”– levelling disc • Hollow disc: • Rubber spring loaded, to follow the ground and protect • Standard border disc • Disc linked to the roller via a parallelogram, so that when • changing working depth with the roller the disc will stay at same • optimum position for levelling • Easy adjustment via turnbuckle to set up position of the disc

  30. CLC Evo Wings – Knock-on as standard Combination of Knock-on 150 + wing shares 470 + deflectors 100mm 470mm • Quick and easy: taking off the 2 saddle bolts will allow to use the CLC Evo Wings only with the 150mm share or others, to go deeper with a moderate fuel consumption. • This kit can be adapted on any CLC tine having the 2 holes on the side Wings shares are the plough skimmer shares from Kverneland. With Knock-on, willing was also to standardise wearing parts. This share is harder than before and being slightly thinner it will offer the same life time as the former generation for about half the price!!

  31. CLC tines: high quality and low cost wearing parts made in Kverneland CLC tine – bolted shares • Standard share 60mm • reversible plough share • low cost • quality heat treatment • Standard share + 300mm wing • adapted to shallow working depth • good boiling effect • quality heat treatment
