A Government of Three Branches
Legislative Branch • This branch of government makes the laws. • Congress makes up the legislative branch. • Congress includes the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Executive Branch • This branch of government carries out the laws. • The executive branch runs the day-to-day business of the government. • The President of the United States represents the executive branch.
Judicial Branch • This branch of government decides if the laws are working fairly. • The Supreme Court is part of this branch of government.
