Definition : • The name for diseases in which the body cells become abnormal and divide without control. • Cancer cells may spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body. • It isn’t confined for man and the higher mammals but affects all most multicellular organisms.
Causes : Radiation : (UV & X-ray). Cosmetics(skin cancer). Smoking(lung cancer). Hepatitis B & C (liver cancer). H.Pylori(stomach cancer).
Symptoms : • Tiredness. • Coughing. • Formation of a cyst. • Unexplained weight loss. • Fever. • Fatigue. • Pain. • Skin changes ( darker skin , yellowish , reddned ).
There is more 100 types of cancer: • Most common in male : Lung. Prostate. Colon. Urinary bladder. Leukemia , lymphoma . • Most common in females: Breast. Colon. Cervix. Lung. Leukemia , lymphoma .
Is cancer infectious ? • No , cancer is not infectious. • A healthy person cannot "catch" cancer from someone who has it. • There is no evidence that close contact or things like sex, kissing, touching, sharing meals, or breathing the same air can spread cancer from one person to another.
Diagnosis: By analysis: - Identifingcancer markers intumer tissue. - CBC blood test : compareresults with identified cancer cells. - Lymphocytes size test :if swollen cells more than normal ones >> cancer.
Treatment : Medical surgery : if tumer size is small. Radiation : may affect the surrounding normal tissue. Chemotherapy : Chemicals can’t differentiate between infected and normal cells.
How to protect ourselves from cancer ? • The best way to avoid cancer is not to smoke. • Eating well (vegetables & fruit) to improve our health and immune system beside doing sport. • Drinking green tea continuously. • As we know that << Prevention is better than cure >>.
