The Quarterly Structural Business Statistics Project, financed by the National Bank, commenced in April 2010 in response to the financial crises experienced in 2009. This initiative aimed to collect quarterly income and balance sheet data to address underlying structural issues and capital access concerns for businesses. By studying profit statistics and quarterly reports from 15 major enterprise groups, the project examined various methodologies including National Accounts track, size-class track, and cash flow track. The project concluded formally in October 2010, with a measurement test following in January 2011.

Design according to the NA track • 12 industrial groups (NACE) • Stratification on NACE (level of characters) • Allocation variable: net turnover • Cut-off: enterprises < 20 employees • Totally surveyed: > 249 employees • Sample size: 4 600 enterprises (2,5% precision)
