Empowering Migrant Women: The Journey of maiz in Austria

In the heart of the city, maiz is a self-organization by and for migrant women dedicated to improving the lives and working conditions of migrants in Austria. From humble beginnings with just three individuals, we now unite over 30 members representing diverse backgrounds. Our initiatives focus on autonomy, self-organization, and collective empowerment, providing legal counseling, job orientation, language courses, and support for migrant sex workers. We are committed to political and cultural participation, as we work to amplify our voices and foster change. Together, we make history!
