Text • Text • Target enrolment of the order of Crores of residents is expected to be feasible by the end of the present Financial Year • Permanent centers implies ability for updation • India Post has a vast geographic reach which will make it possible for 1 Post Office per District to go live with AADHAAR enrolment in the next couple of months • UIDAI’s IEC program will get a huge fillip from India Posts physical infrastructure network which could act as a platform for campaigns • Mobile media campaigns can also be launched via the on-field presence of postmen • India Post is about to embark on a large technology up-gradation project • Banks have adopted UIDAI micro-ATM standards to aid interoperability, India Post to consider including this during upgradation Role of India Post – During enrolment UIDAI envisions a significant role for India Post as a registrar in the Enrolment Process Sustainable Rapid Enrolment Pan-India Reach Awareness Campaign Alignment of Technology
Role and responsibility of DOP • Co-operation and collaboration with UIDAI • In conducting Proof of Concept studies • In testing and full roll out of the project • Follow the criteria and the processes prescribed by UIDAI while appointing enrolling agencies • Follow the process prescribed by UIDAI in enrolment • Use the software developed by and hardware approved by UIDAI in enrolment process • Submit periodic reports to UIDAI
