  3. 1. Update on MPLS IP-VPN Network in China • BJS & HKG will install MPLS (initially 1M) in mid-Aug. • SHA is scheduled in mid-Oct & GZH will be in Q1 08. • The initial bandwidth is 1M and can be upgraded to 2M whenever necessary. • We need to change all our internal IP addresses using 10.10.x.x. The new IP addresses must be effective before the MPLS line is installed. Below are the recommended IP ranges and the CPFW IP addresses. You should also reserve sufficient IP addresses for servers, printers and other networking equipment.

Update on Implementing Lotus Sametime • I will prepare training material and provide training to all Account Servicing users in 4 offices. • You should also make sure you can train all users to use Sametime when there are new comers. You may also need to train other users such as Finance, Admin and even Mac users. • Please test the Sametime Connect client for MAC.   5. 3. Update on Windows 2003 Server upgrade • Please make sure you have bought all W2K3 Server licences for your old W2K servers. We don’t have software assurance for them, that means we must buy new licences in Jul or Aug this year. • There is no problem if you have old servers that cannot be upgraded to W2K3. All we need is to upgrade the Active Directory to W2K3. You can still have W2K member or standalone server in your network. • Our 4 office networks need to trust each other after MPLS has been installed. Therefore, it will be better if all our Active Directories are W2K3 based.

  6. 4. China Summit Meeting • Summary regarding the discipline. • Start working punctually. Work from 9:00am to 6:00pm (or 5:30pm) • Do not nap in the office. • New mission – Being More Proactive (主动出击). • What is proactive? Proactive means taking action by causing change and not only reacting to change when it happens. • e.g. We started implementing MPLS IP-VPN which will cause effective and quality change to the agency as we foresee that there will be a considerable needs from the agency and from the users in terms of the resources. • On the contrast, if we only implement MPLS after we are asked by the users or management, we are reactive, not proactive or active.
