Gaps identified • Unable to attend all global activities or Roadmap meetings. • Inefficient restriction of animals movement on borders. • No cooperation with the Kurdish region in northern of Iraq. • No cooperation with neighboring countries. • Inefficient cooperation with the veterinary private sector. • Inefficient awareness campaigns. • Inadequate live stock estimation Numbers. • Difficulties in shipping, confirming and matching of the isolates.

  10. FMD control measures 2013 ( others ) • Super Vaccination in Dairy farm and animal live markets ( 3 times yearly). • Super Vaccination in Intensive fatting units pre-entry. • Customized the sub strains of FMD viruses entered in the vaccines. • Vet. Policy is required for animals movement.

Aims of FMD control strategy • Control & Eradication of Foot & mouth Disease; - Compulsory free routine vaccination campaigns. - Restriction of live animals movement and it’s products. • Establishmentof minimum competencies to the delivery of national veterinary services; and • Improve prophylactics measures against exotic infectious diseases.
