Gloria R. Class Period:2nd The Hunger GamesBy: Suzanne CollinsPublished:2008Genre: Science Fiction
Setting • The most important setting in the book is the televised interview because they need to get sponsors. Sponsors are people who help the tributes if they get hurt, they could buy the things they needed to get better. If they had different setting it would change everything.
Conflict • The main conflict of the Hunger Games is that Katniss and Petta have to stay alive through the hunger games .It’s man v. man because they have to fight other districts, its also man v. nature because they have to fight through the cold nights and hot days.
Summary of Plot • In the beginning Katniss and Peeta got chosen for there district for the annual hunger games. They went to the capitol ,they rested it was long ride. The next day they had a interview with Caesar. For the next few days they were getting trained for the hunger games. sooner or later it was time for the real hunger games.
Theme • One sentence theme for the book:”to not show weakness” • Text Evidence 1:” he made me look weak”page:135 • Text Evidence 2:I cant show weakness at this injury. Page:179 • Text Evidence 3: Don’t show fear,Ican do this.
Point of View • The point of view is 3rd person omniscient, because it shows each person feelings. If the author picked a different point of view I wouldn’t know each person thoughts, and feelings,
Symbolism • The most important symbolism is the mocking jay. Its very important to katniss because her sister gave it to her for good luck.
Recommendation • I think the book is worth reading because its very exciting. This book is really interesting its not something you will find in other books. This book has a lot of action, it tells each person feelings at certain parts. I think this book is worth reading.
