This project, conducted under the guidance of Prof. Riza Atiq Abdullah at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, explores sustainable urban design in Basrah, Iraq, the nation's second-largest city and a vital port. With a population of 2.6 million, Basrah holds a rich Islamic historical legacy, established in 632 A.C. as a military logistics base. Our research aims to address urban sustainability challenges while honoring Basrah's historical context, providing a framework for sustainable development that meets the needs of its growing population.
