  3. EMERGENCE OF CENTRE Centre for Corporate Research & Training (CCRT) established & dedicated to the Nation on May 16, 1999; Inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, Dr. A. S. Anand.

  4. CHANGE OF NOMENCLATURE Over a period of time Corporate Governance issues assumed significance and therefore it was decided to adopt a new name of the Centre to focus on Corporate Governance, which is major thrust area. The Council approved the change in the name of the Centre to Centre for Corporate Governance, Research & Training (CCGRT) in June 2009.

  5. VISION To act as a catalyst organization in the professional development of the Indian corporate sector, through Qualitative research and High level corporate training

  6. RESEARCH FOCUS Policy oriented and applied in nature. ‘In-house’ as well as ‘commissioned’ by Government, Regulatory Bodies, Stock Exchanges, Multilateral Agencies Generally, short & medium term. With quality deliverables.

RESEARCH ASSIGNMENTS Study Kit on Capital Markets Corporate Governance in Banks - Role, Functions, Selection, Empowerment of Non-Executive Directors A Study of Recovery Experience in Segment Advances & Lessons Thereof Social Responsibility Initiatives of Indian Companies Indian Institute of Banker(Indian Institute of Banking & Finance) Indian Banks’ Association State Bank of India National Stock Exchange SOME PROMINENT COMMISSIONEDRESEARCH PROJECTS FOR OUTSIDE AGENCIES/INSTITUTIONS. :

  8. BRAINSTORMING FOR RESEARCH UNDER THE STEWARDSHIP OF MR. NL BHATIA TWO BRAIN STORMING MEETING WERE HELD TO STRENGTHEN THE CONCEPT OF RESEARCH. THE BRAINSTORMING MEETING COMPRISED OF SOME SENIOR PROFESSIONALS HAVING PROVEN EXPERTISE IN THE FIELDS OF LAW, ACADEMICS, FINANCE, ECONOMICS, SECURITIES MARKET, INDUSTRY, WHOLE TIME CS, PRACTISING CS, MCA WITH SPECIAL INVITEES FROM REGULATOR, BEHAVIOURAL SCIENCE AND STATISTICS. THE FOLLOWING TOPICS EMERGED TO CARRY OUT THE RESEARCH.

  11. E-MSOP 01 January 2012 was a red letter day in the annals of the Institute when CCGRT in collaboration with Gurukul Online Learning Solutions (GOLS) has started the electronic version of MSOP. The e-msop was inaugurated by the President, Vice President, Secretary & CEO and the Chairman of ICSI-CCGRT Management Committee.

  18. TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR CS STUDENTS CCGRT conducts Residential Management Skills Orientation Programs (RMSOPs). The 6th Residential Management Skills Orientation Program (RMSOP) was conducted from Wednesday, January 19, 2011 to Thursday, February 3, 2011 is in progress. The 7th RMSOP) was conducted from Thursday, March 24, 2011 to Friday, April 8, 2011. The 8th RMSOP was conducted from Saturday, May 14th to Sunday, May 29, 2011. The 9th RMSOP was conducted from Friday, September 16, 2011 to Saturday, October 1, 2011. The 10th RMSOP was conducted from Thursday, November 10th to Friday, November, November 25th 2011. The 11th RMSOP has recently concluded on 31 January 2012

TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR CS STUDENTS(RMSOP CONT’D) • The following RMSOP have been scheduled during 2012: • The 12th RMSOP is scheduled from March 21, 2012 to April 05, 2012. • The 13th RMSOP is scheduled from June 01, 2012 to June 15, 2012. • The 14th RMSOP is scheduled from September 20, 2012 to October 05, 2012. • The 15th RMSOP is scheduled from November 26, 2012 to December 10, 2012

SIP & EDP AT ICSI-CCGRT • ICSI-CCGRT conducted 38 batches of SIP spanning from 05 January 2011 to 24 January 2012. • 39th batch of SIP is scheduled from 01 Feb 2012 to 08 Feb 2012 & 40th batch is scheduled from 29 Feb 2012 to 07 March 2012. • ICSI-CCGRT has also conducted 9 batches of EDP starting from 09 Mar 2012 to 09 Nov 2012. • The 10th batch of EDP is scheduled from 12 Mar 2012 to 20 March 2012.

CCGRT has conducted a series of programs on Funding Options for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) jointly with Credit Analysis & REsearch Ltd (CARE) at Mumbai,Vapi,Nagpur,Nasik, Surat, Hyderabad etc. CCGRT has also conducted a two day workshop on XBRL on 02 & 03 December 2011 for the officials of Govt. of MCA

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP SCHEME ICSI-CCGRT is continuing with the concept of Annual Membership Scheme for the Professional Development Participative Programs organized by CCGRT for a rolling period of 12 months Convenient to make payment / take approvals at one time to attend different professional development programs organized during the year. Focus will now be on short terms programs i.e 2 day, 3 day and 5 day

  36. FUTURE AGENDA & PLANS In the light of experience gained, a more focused and strategic orientation is envisaged. Scope of CCGRT’s activities to be aligned more effectively towards the needs of the CS profession, both in practice and in employment, in the context of enlarged role of CS in the wake of liberalization, competition and globalization. New Initiatives in Research and Training activities. Invitation to Regional Councils/Chapters of ICSI to hold joint programs with CCGRT.

  37. LOOKING FORWARD With the experience of a decade a dedicated & motivated team in place and full support of ICSI, its members, activities of CCGRT are expected to- gather further momentum. Progress……
