  4. Panel Findings Best Systems based on Parameters WQX-2 (ARL/UT Current N34 R&D program) System is not available. Development of WQX-3 estimated 18 months SAIC/Reson Kongsberg WESMAR FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY

  6. Long Term Recommendations • Develop MSN/ORD and Acquisition strategy to provide both ship and shore high dollar asset protection • Continue N34 WQX-3 R&D program FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY

Conclusions • Extensive commercial capability exists • No perfect solution exists today • Significant technology advances will occur within CY02 • Interim systems exist to provide limited capability now • NAVSEA is prepared to meet Fleet acquisition and support requirements if funding is identified • Long Term solution (2 years out) still requires MNS/ORD • Continue “SDS IPT meetings” every 6 months • Extend IPT membership to CFFC and ONR FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY
