  2. What does the Lord your God require of you? Deut 10:12-16

  3. Fear the Lord your God • Reverence toward God • Fear (reverence) of God contains many elements, and these elements are as follows: 1. Solemnity -to make solemn, earnest serious sobriety. 2. Veneration - respect inspired by the dignity, wisdom, dedication or talents of one. 3. Adoration - to worship or honor. 4. Awe - profound and humble fearful reverence. 5. Honor - a showing of merited respect, one of superior standing. It’s All About God

  4. Fear the Lord your God • God demands reverence – Malachi 1:1-11; Exo.3:3-5; Psalm 89:7; Eccl. 12:13-14 • We live in a time of irreverence – Psalm 50:21 God will not tolerate irreverence

  5. Walk in all His ways • To walk means to obey • What is not obedience – 1 Sam. 15:22-23 • Simply being religious is not enough – Matt. 7:21 • The elements of true obedience – Heb. 11:30

  6. To Love God • God loves man – John 3:16; 1 John 3:16 • Requirements of loving God 1. Obedience - John 14:15 2. Loving His children - 1 John 4:20-21 3. Enduring temptation - James 1:12 4. Caring for the less fortunate - 1 John 3:17 5. Not loving the world - 1 John 2:15 6. Feeding the Lord's sheep - John 21:15

  7. To serve the Lord with all your heart and soul • Christians are voluntary slaves of God • “Doulos” – bondage, subjection • Man’s highest honor is to serve God • Matthew 20:25-26 • True servitude demands surrender of man’s will to that of God • Trust • Reliance
