  5. BIOLOGICAL HAZARDS Example:- 1. Contact with contaminated objects during procedure. 2. Use of improper techniques during procedure. Solutions:- 1. Use of proper barrier techniques. 2. Proper disposal of biological waste.

  6. ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS Sources:- 1. Dust 2. Noise 3. Polluted Air 4. Poisonous Gases

  7. Solutions:- 1. Avoid dry dusting as possible. 2. Avoid noise. 3. Adequate ventilation. 4. Regular checking for leakage of gases.

  8. PHYSICAL HAZARDS Sources:- 1. Needle sticks injuries. 2. Radiations(X-ray) 3. Wet floor(Slip,trip, & fall) 4. Electricity (Short circuit) 5. Fire 6. Equipments(Eg. Defibrillator)

  9. Solution:- 1. Proper handle and disposal of equipments (Eg. Sharp instruments) 2. Proper use of equipments. 3. Vacuum cleaning of floor. 4. Use of fire extinguisher.

  10. CHEMICAL HAZARDS • Sources 1.Anesthetic Agent . 2.Gases. 3.Disinfectant. 4.Sterilizing agent. 5.Allergic Agent.

  11. Solutions:- 1. Use of Personal Protectives . 2.Effective ventilation. 3.Proper & careful use of equipments. 4. Proper hand washing.

  12. PSYCHOLOGICAL HAZARDS • Sources & Reasons:- 1. Shortage of Nursing Personnel. 2. Personal conflict. 3. Patients Pressure. 4. Time Pressure 5. Lack of Communication. 6. Lack of staff. 7. Poor coping Mechanism.
