Jehovah’s message… • Verse 1- The nations are called to war against Edom • Verses 2-4 Edom is deceived by her pride • Verses 5-9 Edom is to be completely destroyed • Verses 10-14 The reason for Edom’s destruction • Verses 15-16 The Day of the Lord, a Day of Judgment for Edom • Verses 17-21 The triumph of Mount Zion over Edom

Important lessons from Obadiah… • Pride is deceitful and “goes before the fall”! • The wrongs of bitterness & cruelty of one people against another will be avenged by God! • When people share in the spoils of wrongdoing, even though they are not instigators of the crimes… “standing on the other side”, he becomes “even… as one of them” (Verse 11) • As a people sows, so shall it reap. • In the “Day of the Lord” – while there will be judgment upon the wicked, there will be redemption for the faithful!!
