Background Info • The Greater Korean Empire fall because of Japanese occupation for 35 years (August 29, 1910 ~ August 15, 1945 ) • Idea of a "unique and pure" bloodline under Japanese occupation • To keep Korea’s own cultures, language • After 35 years of occupation, United States and Soviet Union comes • South people were against Soviet Union • North people were against United States

  3. Important people and dates • Ahn, Joong-Geun: He assassinated Ito Hirobumi at Harbin station October, 1909 • Kim, Jwa-Jin: He was a general of Korean independence force. October 21~26, 1920 Kim’s forces won the battle and gave big damage to Japanese forces. • Lee-Jun: He was one of the Hague secret envoy • Kim- Ill Sung: In 1950, he started the Korean war by the idea of unification of Korea under socialism • Kim-Gu: He wanted unification of both koreas with out the war

  4. Possible current status • The Korean peninsula still divided into North and South • North is still against America and keep nationalism • South is now thinking of an global world • Still Koreans dislike Japanese because of 35 years of invasion
