  2. FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid • FAFSA.GOV - It’s FREE! • Available January 1st– Apply by February 15th • First-come First-awarded basis • Apply for Federal, State, & Institutional Aid with FAFSA • Fill out the FAFSA every year you wish to receive aid

  3. Am I Eligible for Federal Student Aid? U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen Valid Social Security Number High school diploma, GED or equivalent Register with Selective Service (males only) Seeking a degree or certificate Maintain satisfactory academic progress Not be in default on a student loan or owe money on a federal student grant

  4. Let’s Get Started If you don’t know your correct Social Security Number, you will not be able to begin your FAFSA today.

  5. Go to: www.fafsa.gov

  6. Begin your FAFSAComplete Part I, II, and III • Click Start a New FAFSA • Create an account with a password that’s easy to remember • Spell your name EXACTLY as it is on your SS card • Start a 2013-2014 FAFSA • Males: Must register for Selective Services (check register me) • Everyone: Must select Full-time and Never Attended/1st Bachelors • Add colleges that you have applied to (only allowed 10 schools) • Select On-campus as housing option • View Selected School Info for graduation/retention rates and costs • Complete Student Demographics, Dependency, and School Sections
