  3. Formal, Neutral, and Informal Formal: Elevated Language Neutral: A hybrid of formal or informal. Informal: What you write and speak to friends and family members • Please cease conversing. • The young man ruminated upon his breakfast options. • Shut up. • The boy thought about what he was gonna munch on for breakfast. • Be quiet. • The boy wondered what he was going to eat for breakfast.
