  2. Who are we? We are South Tyneside’s Outdoor Education provider www.simonsidedoutdooradventure.com Based locally in South Shields Have a good working relationship with School Been delivering Adventurous Activities for over 30 years

  3. What is D of E? • The Worlds leading personal and social development programme for young people • A progressive programme covering 4 themes at each level • Evidence based online recording programme which tracks a young persons progress called eDofE.

  5. Sections & Timescales

  6. Commitment • The Bronze Award will take a minimum of 6 months with 1 hour per week per section • It is up to you to complete the 3 sections with support from School/SOA • SOA will deliver all the expedition requirements of the Award

  7. eDofE

  8. Expedition Section Completing a 2 day journey where the young people in small groups are self sufficient in navigating, camping and working together to meet the aims of their expedition.

Groups we deliver Expeditions for. • Keelmans Way School (B,S,G) • Bamburgh School (B) • Southmoor Academy (G) • Young Carers (B,S) • Bored in Boldon (B,S) • Mortimer CC (B) • Whitburn Academy (B,S,G) • St. Josephs Academy (B,S,G) • South Shields School (B,S,G) • Park View (B), mountain biking • Jarrow School (B) • Northumbria Police Cadets (B,S) • Newcastle School for Boys (S), canoeing • St. Wilfrids RC College (B,S,G)

What we offer. • Registered AAP & Licensed Organisation for DofE. • South Tyneside Council Portable DBS cleared employees • Fully Qualified and experienced staff • Proven track record • Professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance • Educational Visits advice and guidance • Insurance through DofE & School

  11. Cost • To register on the programme the cost is currently £22pp • The expedition costs for this year are £199 School are willing to cover these costs if upon receipt of a deposit which will be returned once programme is completed

  12. What we will do • Give all support on eDofE including being a leader to schools Bronze group • 6 x 2hr training sessions • 1 Practice weekend expedition • 1 Qualifying weekend expedition • All equipment • Campsite fees • D of E assessor • All transport • Insurance • Assessor report
