Standing on the Promises Hymn 410
Standing on the promises of Christ my King, Thro’ eternal ages let His Praises ring Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing, Standing on the promises of God
Standing, Standing, standing on the promises of God my savior, Standing, Standing, I’m standing on the promises of God
Standing on the promises that can not fail, when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail, by the living Word of God I shall prevail, standing on the promises of God
Standing, Standing, standing on the promises of God my savior, Standing, Standing, I’m standing on the promises of God
Standing on the promises, I now can seePerfect, present cleansing in the blood for me,Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,Standing on the promises of God.
Standing, Standing, standing on the promises of God my savior, Standing, Standing, I’m standing on the promises of God
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord, bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord. Over coming daily with the spirit’s sword, standing on the promises of God
Standing, Standing, standing on the promises of God my savior, Standing, Standing, I’m standing on the promises of God
Standing on the promises I cannot fail, listening every moment to the Spirit’s call, resting in my Savior as my all in all, Standing on the promises of God

THE CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalm 16) (
Minister:I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heartinstructs me. I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
People:Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; I am secure.
People:You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy!
Lord, high and holy, meek and lowly,You have brought us to the valley of vision, where we live in the depths but see You in the heights.
Hemmed in by mountains of sin we behold Your glory. Let us learn by paradox that the way down is the way up,that to be low is to be high,
that the broken heart is the healed heart, that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit, that the repenting soul is the victorious soul,
that to have nothing is to possess all, that to bear the cross is to wear the crown, that to give is to receive, that the valley is the place of vision.
Let us find Your light in our darkness, Your life in our death,Your joy in our sorrow,Your grace in our sin,
Your riches in our poverty,Your glory in our valley, through the grace of the resurrected Christ.
SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION
Minister:You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing Your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever!
The Church’s One Foundation Hymn 401
The church’s one foundation, Is Jesus Christ her Lord; She is His new creation, By water and the Word; From heav’n He came and sought her, To be His holy bride; With His own blood He brought her, And for her life He died
Elect from every nation, Yet one o’er all the earth; Her charter of salvation, One Lord, one faith, one birth; One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food; And to one hope she presses, with every grace endued;
‘Mid toil and tribulation, And tumult of her war; She waits the consummation, Of peace forever more; Till with the vision glorious, Her longing eyes are blest; And the great Church victorious, Shall be the church at rest Verse 4
Yet she on earth hath union with God, the Three in One; And mystic sweet communion, with those who rest is won; O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we; Like them, the meek and lowly. On high may dwell with Thee. Amen
The Lord’s Prayer OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD, AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER AMEN
