Why we choose online flipbooks? • Easy to use • Simple introduction to using technology • Bring more technology into the curriculum • Use for any grade level • Use for any ability level including Special Education students • Showcase various genres • Share with families, staff and other students

  3. Selection Process: PageFlip-Flap While looking under the external links, we found Web 2.0 Cool Tools for Schools and clicked on the Writing Tools. There is a wide selection to choose from. We looked at other websites including PageFlip-Flap. Both of us thought this was a great idea to use with our general and special education students.

  4. Trial and Error First, we tried to use PageFlip-Flap. We each made our screencasts showing how to access this website. When we tried to actually upload student documents, we were unable to do this successfully. It would pop up with an error message.

  5. Selection Process: FlipSnack After several failed attempts to upload our student documents to PageFlip-Flap, we began our search for another flipbook website. We were discussing our inability to get PageFlip-Flap to work, when Hayley suggested to use FlipSnack. Together, we looked at the website and found it very easy to use and navigate, even for novice technology users.

What is FlipSnack? • Easy to use online flipping book software • Allows you to convert PDF documents into to flash page flip digital documents • You are able to embed a student writing pieces such as: narrative stories, poetry, how to pieces, timelines, informational articles, classroom newsletters, student magazines, etc.

  7. How to Create a Flipbook It takes 6 easy steps to create a flipbook on FlipSnack. • Go to www.flipsnack.com • Create an account • Add documents • Customize a cover and pages • Publish • Share with students and families

  9. Summary Now you interactive student writing piece that students will be proud and excited to share with their families and friends. You can attach it to your classroom/school website, classroom/school newsletter and utilize it with the technology tools in your classroom for easy access and use.
