Nov 9, 2004 UID Update For Defense Acquisition Excellence Council • Departmental Implementation • Sep 3, 2004 Policy Update and Legacy Systems Policy Forecast • DFARS Final Rule Issuance Expected Nov 2004 • UID Summit Nov 17th with Service Model Program Presentations • NATO Adoption • UID STANAG to be developed by Asset Tracking Working Group • UID implementing policy to be developed by AC/327 – Life Cycle Management • ISO Proposal Status for TEI Format Code • US TAG vote currently 15 for and 1 against (closes Nov 12th) • ISO/IEC JTC1 SC 31 vote ends (closes Dec 8th) • Related ISO Initiatives • TS 21849 implements TEIs in ISO and is an enable for TEI format code • EAN-UCC engaged to ensure equivalence where appropriate • Air Transport Association (ATA) Spec 2000 • UID constructs accepted commercially and now allows construct 1 & 2 • NDIA/DAU UID Workshops provided to Government and Industry • Major non-US DoD application of UID - TP400 (European Transporter) • GFP UID requirement to begin with new solicitations on or after Jan 2006
