WHAT IS A BIO-SECURE FACILITY? • Independent water source. • Separate, sterilized equipment. • Restricted access (only to defined personnel), and only after hand wash & change of footwear. • Visitors restricted. No prior visits to other farms, complete change of clothing if necessary. • No entry possible for animals or birds. • No introduction of new stock.

WHAT IS A BIO-SECURE FACILITY? • Consistently monitored water parameters. • Regularly scheduled health tests. • Written log of all abnormal mortalities. • Dead fish disposed of in secure fashion. • Written log of all shipments made. • Records of all customer complaints. • All stock can be traced. • New brood-stock quarantined for 1 year before use.

  6. WHY DO WE NEED BIO-SECURITY? • Increasing number of deadly diseases and viruses, some notifiable. • Constant risk of major mishaps. Some of these (like KHV) may cause considerable damage to brand name and bottom line. • KHV is not discernable at temperatures below approximately 65º F. • A bio-secure system can provide a reliable and consistent source of fish as it is not susceptible to climate, weather or natural influence.

  8. WATER TEMPERATURE IS KEPT CONSTANT AT 75º F. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

  9. HEALTH • A Bio-secure facility is not sterile. Fish interact with common bacteria & parasites. • No antibiotics used. • Daily water tests. • Weekly in-house parasitic tests on live/ dead tissue samples. • Random independent PCR scans for KHV. • Treatments: when necessary as well as prophylactic.

ENCLO KOI • Are grown from egg to box in a specially built bio-secure indoor system. • Are used to being handled constantly – not “shy”. • Are healthy, strong, & less liable to stress. • Are happy in warm or cold conditions. • Have great coloration & superb body shape. • Are shipped in perfect condition.

  11. ENCLO KOI IN THE UK • All fish are held for a minimum quarantine period of 14 days in a specially built facility in the UK. • All fish are conditioned, acclimatized during this period. (Treatments carried out if necessary). • Fish are re-packed for country-wide delivery. FISH WILL BE SHIPPED ONLY AFTER BEING CONDITIONED AND QUARANTINED!!
