International Security Policy: Introduction • Iceland strongly supports international and regional efforts on disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation • Its policy is the elimination of all WMDs and inhumane conventional weapons and to minimize the risk of conventional weapons by limiting amounts, types and spread without compromising legitimate defence interests • Main priorities • Elimination of nuclear weapons • Eradication of illicit trade in SALW • Iceland routinely aligns with related EU CFSP statements and statements in international organisations
