Finding articles on a topic • Use the Library databases, NOT the Library Catalog to find articles • Library subscribes to 125+ databases • Library does not have every title covered • Library - 2K+ print and 10K+ online titles • Databases may provide: • bibliographic info on article - author, title, journal/magazine/newspaper title, page #s • a short summary of article, called an abstract • the text of the articles

Locating Magazine, Journal& Newspaper Articles • Key information: NAME OF SOURCE • One can find an article, even if you do not know the article title or author, with: • title of magazine, journal or newspaper • issue information: volume, issue (if applicable), year and month/season (if applicable) • page number(s) • To find print or online copy of magazine, journal or newspaper title, try SFX or journal tab

Locating Magazines,Journals & Newspapers • Try the SFX link if available • first link should be full-text, if available • check Print Holdings or Periodical’s Finding List • order using Interlibrary Loan link • In Library catalog, click Journalstab • Search for the journal NAME • American Journal of Physiology - NOT title of article • If Library has journal, link to catalog will show: • CALL NUMBER for print copy • All print magazines, journals & newspapers are on Level A • DATABASE NAME for online version OR
