Schwachpunkte in Europa • Klima ungünstig • Zersplitterung in der EU von Lehre, Forschung und Innovation • Mangelnde Umsetzung durch: • Fehlende Kritische Masse • Geringe Anzahl an exzellenten Forschungseinrichtungen • Mangelnde Beteiligung von Unternehmen an Aus- und Weiterbildung • Entwicklungsresistenz traditioneller Forschungsbetriebe • Abwanderung der Besten • Mangelnde Reaktionsfähigkeit gegenüber Märkten • Geringe private Förderquoten für F&E

European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT): Ziele und Strukturen • EIT Headquarter: Budapest • Ziel: Erhöhung der Innovationskraft der EU durch die Integration bestehender Kooperationen in Lehre, Forschung und Innovation • 2008-2013: 309 Mio. € für EIT Struktur • ab 2015: 1,5-2 Mrd. € pro Jahr • Struktur: • Governing Board, Chair: Martin Schuurmans(ehem. Philips Research) • Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC) • 1. Ausschreibung des EIT: • 3 KIC Schwerpunkte: Sustainable Energy, Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Future Information and Communication Society • Lebensdauer der KICs: 7 – 15 Jahre

  6. 3. Aufgaben der KICs Die KICs befassen sich insbesondere mit: • Innovationsaktivitäten mit europäischem Mehrwert • Innovationsorientierter Spitzenforschung • Aus- und Weiterbildungsaktivitäten (Master‘s und PhDs) • Verbreitung vorbildlicher Verfahren im Innovationssektor
