  3. Management of Student H1N1 Cases • Reporting • Student Health Services • Staff trained and prepared to instruct • May not see all cases in the clinic • What about those students who seek medical treatment off campus? • Student Health and URH&A points of contact for tracking reported illness

Management of Student H1N1 Cases • Self isolation • Home/ in residence halls/ in apartments • Until free of symptoms, fever or signs of fever for 24 – hours (w/o use of fever-reducing medicines) • Support of self isolation • Re-assignment of affected roommates if available and appropriate • Meal distribution. • Care for infected residents. • Emergency supply kits – hand sanitizer, N 95 masks, surface cleaning wipes, gloves, thermometer, gatorade, instructions.

  5. Management of Student H1N1 Cases • Faculty accommodations • Students who report feeling ill in class should be instructed on self isolation and reporting. • Consider altering policies on missed classes, examinations and late assignments. • Please do not require medical documentation upon return .
