  3. Self-directed Support(Direct Payments) Changes in 2010 • Survey remained much the same as previous year • Collected through ProcXed for secure transmission of data

  4. Self-directed Support(Direct Payments) What happened? • Lots of queries • Issued FAQ • Better quality data • Need to review questions for 2011 • Quicker response • Resulting in publishing 4 months earlier than last year • Publishing on 28th September 2010

Self-directed Support(Direct Payments) Possible changes for 2011 (for discussion pm) • Expand SDS survey to include: • People who receive ILF only • People who know their budget and have control over budget, but don’t actually receive money. • Combine the SDS and home care surveys to be one survey ? • Review all questions with view to reduce number of questions asked and improve quality of data that is asked ?

Home Care / Meals / Telecare Changes in 2010 • Substantial changes for 2010 • Collected at person level • Less data collected on home help services • New data on meals and telecare services • Optional items • Collected through ProcXed for secure transmission of data • Data linking to be carried out between all three surveys and SDS survey

Home Care / Meals / Telecare What happened? • Quicker response (26 LAs returned at 6/9/10) • Most LAs are able to provide unique IDs to link the four survey files • Nearly half completed the optional items on shopping, laundry and housing support • 6 provided Care Plan Review dates and 2 provided IoRN scores • Few provided multiple client groups • Encourage LAs to look at this for 2011 • Plan to publish at end November 2011.

Home Care / Meals / Telecare Possible changes for 2011 (for discussion pm) • Capture core data (age, sex, ethnicity, etc for all clients) • Combine the SDS and home care surveys to be one survey ? • Should any of the optional items become compulsory ? • Laundry services • Shopping services • Housing Support services • IoRN score • Care Plan review date
