LOUIS ARMSTRONG • He was mainly known for his great trumpeting. • He was a conditional influence to jazz. • His neighborhood was called “the battle field’’ because of all of the gangs. • He Spent most his years at his grandmothers house. Then ran home to his mother and sister Beatrice. • Louis’s father left him and his wife MayAnnsoon after he was born. • He loved all kinds of music.

  3. LOUIS ARMSTRONG BIRTH AND DEATH and what he loved to do. • Louis loved to be delivering coal to the Karnfogsky family. Also to pick up bottle caps and rags. Also he loved music. Especially jazz. • When Louis was in third grade he dropped out of school. • By the end of his career in the 1960s, he was widely regarded as a profound influence on popular music in general. • Age was (69) (1901-1971)

  4. What he did while he was alive. • Loved to play his trumpet and cornet. • American jazz trumpeter. • Also influential singer with his deep voice. • A improviser. • He was seven when he started working.

  5. Louis Armstrong's childhood • He loved to play his trumpet and cornet.

  6. He loved carrying gravel for other people and just loved to help other people besides himself. • Louis also liked to collect bottle caps and rags. He thought it was fun. • He was an inspiration to jazz and everyone loved his trumpeting. • He was one of the best trumpeters in the world. • He was constantly exhausted because his immediate playing opportunities.

  7. Louis Armstrong becoming a musician! • Chicago bandleader,KingOliver, hired Louis Armstrong to play second cornet. • Armstrong quit Oliver’s band a few years later. • Played along with many recordings before returning to Chicago.
