Vocabulary words • Patron-- a person of wealth or influence who supports an artist or writer • Shareholder-- a person who owns part of a business • Critical-- apt to judge severely or form unfavorable opinions • Lavish-- extremely showy, expensive, or abundant congested crowded; too full • Adornment-- decoration; ornament; something that beautifies a person or thing • Dismantle-- take apart

  3. Patron:a person of wealth or influence who supports an artist or writer This man paid Shakespeare to write for the Globe. The Earl of Southampton was Shakespeare’s patron.

  4. Patron A person who likes the arts and gives money to an artist to help support them.

  5. Shareholder-a person who owns part of a business He owns part of my business. We are partners. He is a shareholder.

  6. Critical-- apt to judge severely or form unfavorable opinions The judge was very critical of the boy who played the joke. The movie was very bad it received a critical review.

  7. Lavish– extremely showy, expensive, or abundant congested crowded; too full The ball gown was lavish.

  8. Adornment– ornament; something that beautifies a person or thing decoration; The adornment of the Christmas Tree was complete when all the ornaments were on it.

  9. Dismantle– take apart The men used a wrecking ball to dismantle the building.
