Romániában: 13 béka, 5 gőte és 1 szalamandra faj • Csíki-medencében: 8 béka (gyepi, mocsári, tavi, kecske, varangyok, unka, leveli), 4 gőte, 1 szalamandra • Rétyi Nyírben: 11 béka faj • Világon: 2000 béka és pár száz gőtefaj
Csoda: kb. egy tucat „fagyálló” béka faj: víztartalmuk 65-70%-a jéggé fagy (pl. Rana sylvatica)
