Consider the family home • What range of functions is this building asked to perform? • What would make the perfect house ? • Could you adequately describe in detail all the requirements of this perfect house? • What functions may perhaps be asked to perform rarely or for what it was never intended?

Buildings and the Hospitality industry • For the hospitality manager buildings are important • Shapes the hospitality experience • Provides practical and design constraints • Governs operations • Major economic consideration • The need to manage building as an asset that provides an adequate return on investment
