Tri-Community Elementary School

Welcome to Room 211 at Tri-Community Elementary School! I'm Mrs. Zehring, and I'm thrilled to teach fifth grade this year. This guide includes our daily schedule, special classes, extracurricular activities, and classroom rules. I'll share my teaching background and our approach to behavior management and homework expectations. Stay connected through the online gradebook and feel free to reach out with any questions. I look forward to a fantastic year filled with learning and growth for all students!

  3. Welcome • My Teaching Background -3 years teaching special ed at Susquenita School District, K-4 and high school -2 years teaching multi-grades in Haiti -1st year with CDSD • Married for 2 years • Live in Pine Grove

  4. Routines • Daily Schedule • Specials -Day 1 Art -Day 2 Music -Day 3 Library -Day 4 Computer Lab -Day 5 P.E. Switching classes • Reading Skills • Math Skills • Content (1st rotation on September 22nd) • LaPenta-PSSA Prep • Zehring- Science • Byers-Social Studies • Classroom Logistics

Extracurricular Activities • Parent Teacher Student Council • One representative and one alternate per classroom • Applications due September 17th • Elections at the end of September • Meetings the first Thursday of the month from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. • Students must have ride home following meeting

  6. Rules • Be prepared • Act responsibly • Respect S.O.A.P. (self, others, adult, property) • Keep body to yourself

  8. Homework • Homework Planner • Signed daily by teacher/aide and parent • Math worksheets from Go Math • Letter at the beginning of each chapter • Homework- • checked and given completion grade • Too busy for homework or taking off school?

Online Gradebook • http://www.cdschools.org • Click on “Parent Tab” along top of screen • Select Home Access Center (HAC) • Register • Must have email address to access system • Grades are usually entered within one week of assessment • Questions/Problems: call Administration building 545-4703
