5. Overview What are the challenges around producing concrete and replenishing raw materials? Concrete is an extreme “Just In Time” delivery product! Concrete is a “made to order product” and consumes a very high volume of raw materials, approximately 2 tons of raw material per cubic meter. Most Concrete plants have a very limited raw material inventory storage capacity and require multiple deliveries of raw materials throughout the production day. 27. What’s COMMANDreplenish Manual Support Suppliers: Support for suppliers that are not connected via B2B. Orders can be generated and a user can call-in these orders to the supplier and mark them as ordered. Reduce Demand Order Status: Special handling for demand per order status, i.e. Will-Call, Weather Permitting. Service Level Agreements (SLA): Allow for SLA’s between supplier and customer to have the inventory at a certain level at the beginning of the business day. Special Days: Allow for changes to safety and maximum stock levels for certain days to plan for large projects or low inventory levels at the end of the month. 45. System Roles & Definitions Customer: The party that gets the raw materials delivered, normally the concrete producer. Customer systems for phase 1 are expected to be COMMANDconcrete (CS). Supplier: The party that provides the raw materials, normally the aggregate or cement producer or vendor. Purchasing: The system that handles the processes around procurement and raising purchase orders. Normally these processes will be handled in an ERP system, i.e. SAP, Oracle Financial. It is assumed that Ortec’s Stock Replenishment (SR) system will be use to fulfill this role. Replenishment Gateway: This is a technical component to allow translation of key values between customers and suppliers systems as well as routing and Business to Business (B2B) authentication between the customers and suppliers systems.
