Historical Documents • For each historical document follow the steps below • Before Reading-Source your document • During Reading- Underline evidence that helps you answer the focus question • After Reading-Answer the guiding questions for the document • Focus Question: Were Lewis and Clark respectful towards the Native Americans they met on the journey?
Structured Academic Controversy Step 1 • Team A—argues YES Lewis & Clark were respectful • Team B—argues NO Lewis & Clark were not respectful • You have 10 minutes to work with you partner to find 3 pieces of evidence which support your side • Complete the work on the back of your paper.
