Knowing the external communities environment 1 2 3 The external connections communities main screen looks quite similar to W3 connections (internal communities). However, there are some differences between both spaces: 1. You are on an external link, instead of internal one (https://w3-connections.ibm.com/) 2. Most of recommendations leads to external communities. 3. The “Request a community space” button is to request for new community space. Please note that each external community has a cost and IBM Club must refrain from creating an external community. Any new request must be approved by Global Program Management. 1. How to create an IBM ID for external communities Click on the following link: https://ibm.biz/BdRa2T The following screen appear: 1. Click on “Create IBM id” button.
1. How to create an IBM ID for external communities - continued Once you click on “register now” option, the following screen will appear: • Provide a valid email address for your IBM ID. You may want to read the “Why do I have to provide an email address as my IBM ID?” section by clicking the link below the field. 2) Enter a password with at least eight characters. You can read the “guidelines for IBM IDs and passwords” for security requirements of passwords. 3) Re-enter your password, taking care to keep same Upper or lower case.

How to create an IBM ID for external communities - continued 4) Enter a security question, this is an additional validation in case you forget your password, the system will ask this to validate your identity. 5) Enter the answer to the security question. 6) Enter a valid email account, this can be the same you entered on step 1, or can be an alternative, valid email account you own. 7) Select your country/region of residence. 8) Click on Continue once you provided requested information.

How to create an IBM ID for external communities - continued 9) Select your preferred language for marketing communications. 10) Complete the form taking care to fulfill the mandatory red asterisks marked fields. 11) Once you have provided all the requested information, you may want to read the IBM's privacy statement and click on “Submit” to send your information. You will receive a notification of approval in the provided email account. 12) Next time you access to external communities link, you will be able to sign in using your IBM ID

Once you have created and linked your IBM ID To access to external communities, go to the following link: (https://www-304.ibm.com/usrsrvc/account/userservices) Enter your IBM ID and password Tip: After you type your IBM ID, avoid to use the enter key to move to the password field, use instead the tab key or by clicking over it. You want to be a member of a community to have full access to the content.
