Mobile Ticketing – Large Peers • Long Island Rail Road/Metro-North Railroad (LIRR/MNR): • Jointly awarded contract to Masabi, April 2014 • Scheduled system-wide roll-out by late spring 2015 • New Jersey Transit (NJT): • MyTIX mobile ticketing application implemented system-wide December 2013 • All tickets valid on commuter rail; monthly and weekly passes also valid on NJT buses and light rail • Over 140,000 registered users/13% use rate (commuter rail monthly tickets) • Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA): • mTicket mobile ticketing application developed by Masabi • Implemented system-wide late November 2012 • Valid on commuter rail and boats only • Approximately 85,000 registered users/27% use rate (commuter rail only) • Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA): • No current plans for mobile ticketing application, but new fare payment system will allow use of mobile wallet application on NFC-equipped phones for system access (contactless bank card emulation at tap-on/tap-off readers, fare gates, etc.) 2
Mobile Ticketing – Other Peers • Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District/South Shore (NICTD): • Mobile ticketing application developed by ByteMark • Implemented system-wide June 2014 • Approximately 5,000 registered users/3% use rate as of July 2014 • Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)/Ft. Worth Transportation Authority (The T)/Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA): • Joint effort of DART, The T, and DCTA • GoPass mobile ticketing application developed by Unwire • Implemented system-wide September 2013 • Valid on buses, commuter rail, and light rail throughout Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Denton County, TX • Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet): • TriMet Tickets mobile ticketing application developed by GlobeSherpa • Implemented system-wide September 2013 • Valid on buses, commuter rail, light rail, and streetcars throughout Portland, OR • Approximately 98,000 regular users/29% use rate as of August 2014 3
