  3. Konstruksi …. Industri konstruksi mirip dengan industri manufaktur, keduanya concern dengan pengkonversian material dasar ke barang jadi. Perbedaan utama dari konstruksi adalah pada produk akhir struktur yang relatif (berumur) jangka panjang. Kontras dengan produk manufaktur yang seringkali dapat segera dikonsumsi (dan langsung habis), manfaat produk konstruksi dapat selama bertahun-tahun. Karena aliran manfaat ini maka, konstruksi adalah investasi yang dapat memperkuat perekonomian negara

Definisi UU 18 Tahun 1999 • Jasa konstruksi adalah layanan jasa konsultansi perencanaan pekerjaan konstruksi, layanan jasa pelaksanaan pekerjaan konstruksi, dan layanan jasa konsultansi pengawasan pekerjaan konstruksi; • Pekerjaan konstruksi adalah keseluruhan atau sebagian rangkaian kegiatan perencanaan dan/atau pelaksanaan beserta pengawasan yang mencakup pekerjaan arsitektural, sipil, mekanikal, elektrikal, dan tata lingkungan masing-masing beserta kelengkapannya, untuk mewujudkan suatu bangunan atau bentuk fisik lain;

Manajemen Proyek Manajemen proyek adalah suatu cara untuk mengarahkan dan mengkoordinasikan manusia dan sumberdaya material selama umur proyek dengan menggunakan teknik manajemenmodern untuk mendapatkan tujuan yang sudah ditetapkan dari sisi skope, biaya, waktu, kualitas dan kepuasan pengguna.

Tugas Manajer Konstruksi • Tugas Manajer Konstruksi adalah secara efisien dan ekonomis mengimplementasikankebutuhan sumberdaya untuk menghasilkan fasilitas konstruksi yang dapat diterima dari sisi kualitas dan dalam batasan frame waktu dan biaya yang dianggarkan • Manajer konstruksi mirip seperti atlet serba bisa, mempunyai kemampuan kuat dalam banyak sisi yang diperlukan.
