  2. Introduction • On August 8th, a PRISM upgrade will be implemented. • Why? • Epic releases upgrades to their system several times per year, including a major annual upgrade.  The latest such upgrade, titled “Summer 2009”, contains a number of enhancements recommended for use. • Although the look and feel of PRISM is changing, your access to activities and tools is not changing.

  3. Introduction • This presentation will highlight the changes and new features you will see in PRISM. • You can learn more by going to the PRISM website via the FAHC inTRAnet. • Information about demo’s and where to practice is at the end of this presentation and on the website. • Click here if you use PRISM to care for patients in Ambulatory settings, otherwise proceed to the next slide.

  4. Changes to Hyperspace • Login screen • Epic button and Hyperspace toolbar • Hyperspace themes • Forward, Back, and More buttons • New date and time entry controls • Side reports • Lab report – results button • SmartLink/Phrase butler

  6. In PRISM 2010, hyperspace got a makeover.

  7. The login screen has a new look and alerts you if your Caps Lock key is enabled while logging in.

  8. Inside of hyperspace, there is a new Epic button. • This button helps to make the screen less busy.

  9. Clicking on the Epic button opens the main menu of activities.

  10. Under the Epic button is a Recent section which automatically populates as you open various activities.

  11. If you use one of the recently accessed activities often, you can pin it down to your favorites list.

  12. Do this by clicking on the star next to the activity name. • It will move the activity to the top of the menu and the star will turn yellow.

  13. Notice that the shortcut buttons on the hyperspace toolbar have moved up.

  14. And, all the startup activities that open in the home workspace are nowmini-tabs.

  15. You can choose color themes for hyperspace. • Themes can personalize the look of hyperspace as well as relieve eye strain in some cases.

  16. There are eight themes to choose from. • Here you see an example of the carbon theme.

  17. In PRISM 2010, you can navigate activity tabs by using the new back and forward buttons.

  18. And, you can use the down arrow to show recent activities you’ve accessed.
