Rewards & Recognition. The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) is responsible for the day-to-day administration of awards.  All award nominations are to be submitted to the NSSC through the NASA Automated Awards System (NAAS). At NASA, we have two broad award categories:

  1. Rewards & Recognition The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) is responsible for the day-to-day administration of awards.  All award nominations are to be submitted to the NSSC through the NASA Automated Awards System (NAAS). At NASA, we have two broad award categories: • External Award Programmes: NASA participates in a number of award programs sponsored by external organizations. Many of these awards must be submitted to NASA Headquarters for further review and approval. Others can be submitted directly from our Center to the sponsoring organization as well. • Agency Award Programs: NASA’s most prestigious honor awards are reviewed by the Chair of the Incentive Awards Board (IAB) and approved by the Administrator. They are presented to carefully selected individuals and groups, Government and non-Government, who have distinguished themselves by making outstanding contributions to the mission. We encourage employees to bring relatives and friends to attend all ceremonies and share employee’s recognition.

  2. Agency Award Programs Recognition may come in many forms - certificates, honor awards, money, time-off including trips to observe Shuttle launches @ the Kennedy Space Center

  3. NASA Honor Awards NASA medals and/or certificates are, subsequently, presented by the Agency’s highest officials at the annual awards ceremonies held at NASA Headquarters and each NASA Center Exceptional Bravery Medal Exceptional Administrative Achievement Medal Distinguished Public Service Award Equal Employment Opportunity Medal Exceptional Public Service Medal Exceptional Achievement Medal Distinguished Service Medal • Certificate of Appreciation • Public Service Group Achievement Award Exceptional Engineering Achievement Medal Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal Exceptional Service Medal Outstanding Leadership Medal Exceptional Technology Achievement Medal Space Flight Medal
