ELECTRICITY MARKET IN 2008 • 13% real market opening – 1.3 TWh • 20 Independent Suppliers, 6 – active • 64% - contracted energy, 24% - energy at auction and 12% - PSO • Installed capacity is 2.6 times higher than the national peak demand • About 70% of electricity is produced in the nuclear power plant (till 2010) • System reserve costs are very high due to the big unit in the nuclear power plant National Control Commission for Prices and Energy, LITHUANIA
