  3. Research! • Go to http://uresearch.asu.edu/home to find research opportunities • Look up your professors to see what they are researching • Can be physical, natural, or social sciences!

  4. Research Symposium • Sign up for to present at our Spring Research Symposium! • Wednesday March 20th at 5 pm • Contact Ashley Akramoff if you would like to participate: ashley.akramoff@asu.edu

  5. vs. • Were going to see the Sun’s play the Lakers on Monday March 18th at 7 pm! • Money is due TODAY • $45 for dues paying members • $70 if you are a non-dues paying member or would like to bring a friend, spouse, etc. that is not a member of the club. • You can pay in cash or check made out to ASU Pre Dental Club. •  Reserve your ticket with Ashley Akramoff

  7. Kaplan • DAT Test Prep class schedules are now finalized. Please go into the Kaplan office on the Tempe Campus or contact Elizabeth Jeffrey, the campus manager for more information: elizabeth.jeffrey@kaplan.com • ASU Kaplan Center • Lower level Memorial Union • Open Monday – Friday | 9:00 am- 3:00pm • (480) 967-0794 • Members who have paid dues for the year get a$200discount off Kaplan courses and their name in a raffle for a FREE Kaplan Course!

Midwestern Sim Clinic • MWU ASDA Clinical Simulation Course will be happening again this summer for 2 weekends: 6.7.13-6.8.13 and 6.14.13-6.15.13.  • Total cost is $100 which includes breakfast and lunch both days and all materials used • If you have any further questions, feel free to contact Kyla Olsen at kolson13@midwestern.edu or Steve Goetz at sgoetz17@midwestern.edu. • Itinerary and sign up info posted on asupredental.com

  11. Volunteer Opportunities For the Pre-Dental Student

  12. Why Volunteer? • Volunteering is something that dental schools are going to be looking for! Make sure that you are continuouslyengaging yourself in the community by volunteering. • ALSO, volunteering is a way to give back to those less fortunate than yourself. Not only will you be making a true difference in your community, you will be able to better appreciate all that you have! • FINALLY, volunteering is an awesome way to make new friends or to get to know the students in the Dental Club. Try arranging to meet other members at the same event so you get your hours done while having fun!

  13. Devils in Disguise • Join fellow pre-dents to serve in our community! • March 23rd from 9am-1pm

  14. Oral Cancer Walk • Need help with sponsors and at the day of the event • Saturday, April 6th • 8:30 – 12 pm

  15. St. Mary’s Food Bank • St. Mary’s Food Bank is a non-profit organization with the mission of easing hunger in Arizona. • Jobs include sorting, boxing, and bagging food, as well as completing administrative and fundraising support. • If interested, visit their website volunteer.services@firstfoodbank.orgOR call at602-242-FOOD • Saturday March 2nd 12-3pm

  16. Saint Vincent de Paul • Saint Vincent de Paul is a non-profit organization committed to serving the poor. They often do this by providing meals to the homeless. • Saint Vincent de Paul is searching for Family Evening Meal Lead Coordinators for this fall! • Mondays and every other Wednesday from 3:30 to 6:30 at the Phoenix Saint Vincent location (I-17 and 7th Avenue). This is a great leadership opportunity to add to a resume • Email vanessa.hernandez.2@asu.edu if you are interested in leading. • If you’re not interested in being a Coordinator, you can still help out! Regular volunteers are also needed to work from 4 to 6 any night of the week.

Arizona Stand-Down • Date: March 8-10 (Set-up day March 7th) • Where: Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum • What: VA HealthCare, Mental Health • Services, Clothing, Meals, Emergency Shelter, • Transitional and Permanent Housing, ID/ • Drivers License's, Court Services and Legal • Aide, Showers and Haircuts and myriad other • services and resources. • • http://www.arizonastanddown.org

  18. Help pack Medical Supplies • • What: Project C.U.R.E. distributes donated medical supplies to people around the world who have little resources but imperative health care needs. Volunteers will sort and box donated medical supplies to be shipped to sick and dying people in developing countries. • • When: Saturday March 23rd 1-4pm

  19. Help Get Warm Cloths to the Homeless • Help Get Warm Clothes to theHomeless • What: CASS provides food, shelter and clothing to the homeless population in Phoenix. They need volunteers to sort donated clothes in their Clothing Center so that they can distribute the clothes to homeless men, women and children. • When: Saturday Feb. 23rd (multiple time slots)
