  1. Happy Easter As you view these pictures, you will notice that they skip many, many years. As is often the case with family holiday meals, some years there were cameras around and some years there weren’t. Once Adrian and Wanda’s grandchildren got old enough to start having Easter egg hunts, more pictures were taken.

  2. 1950 – DeBelle Street Raymond, Andie and Reggie with strange bunny dolls.

  3. 1950 – DeBelle Street Raymond, Reggie, and Andie (probably looking at a rock.)

  4. 1954 – DeBelle Street - Raymond, Reggie, Andie, and Terry. Notice that Reggie and Andie have on gloves

  5. 1957 Norman Road Reggie, Andie,Terry, Linda, and Barbara You can see corn growing in the background so it is not Easter but late in the summer. These were probably our Easter dresses from a few months before. ,

  6. 1957 – Linda and Terry – Norman Road ALL our dresses were designed and made by our mom.

  7. Barbara and Linda in their Easter finery. Picture taken about 1960 or 1961.

  8. 1977 - All the ladies of the family! Andie holding Jenny, Wanda, Cindy in front of Beth, Kris, Linda, Reggie holding Deborah’s hands, Wanda and Emily in front of Barbara, Terry, and Aunt Reggie. Notice the orange wild azalea behind Aunt Reggie.

  9. All the gentlemen of the family! David, Jeff, Eric in front of Bobby, Keith in front of Raymond, Adrian holding Jay, John.

  10. 1977 – Wanda, Emily, Rusty, Eric, Adrian holding Jenny with Susie between his knees, Kris, Cindy holding Deborah’s shoulders.

  11. 1977 Reggie and her gang in front of some azaleas. In front, Deborah and Eric. In back, Rusty, Cindy, Reggie.

  12. 1978 Getting that meal ready! David starting to cut up the turkey, Adrian watching. Wanda making gravy while Raymond appears to have taken over the turkey from David.

  13. Getting serious about eating! Wanda, Andie hitting the gravy bowl, Raymond, Beth. At second table, Deborah, Reggie, David’s arm. 1978 Another fine meal finished off! Facing camera: Mrs. Cross, Linda, John, Andie, Adrian. Facing away, Reggie and David.

  14. Unknown year – Hunting Easter eggs in the back yard.

  15. Unknown year – probably around 1982. Back deck on Norman Road.

  16. 1982 Front: Emily, Deborah, Adrian holding Andrew and Leigh, Eric, Wanda Back: Rusty with Heather on his shoulders, Susie, Betsy, Jacob, Jenny

  17. 1982 Adrian’s grandchildren knew who to see for those extra hugs!

  18. 1983 Wanda and Adrian were always happiest with a house full of children and grandchildren around!

  19. 1983 Can you identify the people in this picture?

  20. 1983 The eight of us! Back: Andie, Terry, Reggie Middle: Linda, Barbara, Momma and Daddy Front: Raymond in a moment of silliness! We probably had to beg him to be in the picture.

  21. Once the grandchildren started getting old enough to entertain themselves, we would take time to sit and enjoy each other’s company.

  22. Polish Easter Eggs As children, we watched Wanda make Polish Easter Eggs (Pisanki). Sadly, we failed to take pictures of any of them. These pictures were as close as I could come to what she would do, though many of her designs were floral. The process uses wax. Wanda would often use melted crayons and the heads of straight pins to “tattoo” a design onto the egg. Sometimes, liquid, clear wax would be applied in a design on the egg and then placed in a dye bath.

  23. More Easter pictures will probably surface after posting these, so I will save them until next Easter! This picture of Adrian and Wanda would have been taken between 1939 and 1945. The location is unknown – just thought you might enjoy seeing it!
