  3. Vacation Period Expenses Virginia Tech is allowed to provide the cost of room and board during official VT vacation periods (not to exceed the amount provided institutional staff members on away-from-campus trips) for student-athletes who…

  4. Vacation Period Expenses (1)are required to remain on the institution’s campus for organized practice sessions or competition during VT’s official vacation periods;

  5. Vacation Period Expenses (2)return to campus during VT’s official vacation period occurring during a regular term (not including vacation periods between terms) from institutional competition. Room and board expenses may be provided beginning with the student-athlete’s arrival on campus, until the dorms and dining facilities reopen; and

  6. Vacation Period Expenses (3)return to campus during VT’s official vacation period between regular academic terms from institutional competition that occurs at the end of VT’s playing and practice season or a segment thereof. Those expenses may be provided for no more than a 48-hour period.

  7. Vacation Period Expenses STUDENT-ATHLETES WHO LIVE AT HOME DURING THE VACATION PERIOD MAY NOT BE PROVIDED THE COST OF ROOM AND BOARD DURING THAT VACATION PERIOD.

  8. Vacation Period Expenses - Meals VT may also provide ONE extra meal (but not the cash equivalent) as a benefit incidental to participation during each day that they are required to remain on campus.

  9. Vacation Period Expenses – Meals Meal-Allowance Limitation (16.8.1.2.3) All student-athletes on the same team must receive identical meal allowances on intercollegiate trips and during vacation periods when student-athletes are required to remain on the institution's campus for organized practice sessions or competition.  Such allowances may not exceed the amount provided by the institution to institutional staff members on away-from-campus trips and may not be provided for a particular meal if the student-athlete receives that meal (or its equivalent) from another source.

  12. VT Thanksgiving Vacation - Meals You may provide per diem of $46 per student-athlete for every day that they are required to be on campus starting Saturday, November 21, 2009 to Sunday, November 29, 2009.

  13. VT Thanksgiving Vacation - Meals On Friday, November 20, 2009 you may provide per diem for dinner ONLY = $23.

  14. Vacation Periods – Lodging The lodging rate for student-athletes during a vacation period is $17.14. Off-campus student-athletes may be provided $17.14 for each night that they are required to be in Blacksburg. If student-athletes remain on-campus, WE will be covering their lodging, so they will not be able to receive cash.

  15. VT Thanksgiving Period - Lodging If you require your student-athletes to remain in Blacksburg for the entire Thanksgiving period, their lodging expense would be for 9 days. 9*$17.14=$154.26 for lodging for off-campus student-athletes.

  16. Vacation Period Expenses – Entertainment During a vacation period, VT may pay actual costs (not cash equivalent) for reasonable entertainment that takes place within a 30-miles radius of campus.
